Yes — listing is free and permanent. You get a listing page, a place in the tournament, upvotes, reviews and a free badge. No fee and no approval queue.
How does the tournament work?
On the 1st and 16th of every month, the 16 most-upvoted products are drawn into a knockout bracket. Each round has a 72-hour voting window, and the whole run spans a 12-day cycle — Round of 16 through to the Championship.
How does voting stay fair?
You have to be signed in, you can vote once per matchup (enforced by the database, not the browser), and you must open both products before your vote counts. We also log a hashed IP to catch and remove coordinated voting.
What is the badge, and what’s a dofollow backlink?
Your listing link starts as nofollow, which passes no SEO value. Add the free LaunchNest badge to your site and verify it — we check it links back to your listing — and your link becomes a permanent dofollow backlink.
When does my listing go live?
As soon as you install and verify your badge (or an admin approves it). That’s what takes a listing from pending to public and enters it into the next bracket.
What’s the difference between Featured and Spotlight?
Featured pins your product to the top of the directory. Spotlight puts it in the grid on the homepage, in front of every visitor. Both are one-time payments — no subscription.
When does the next tournament start?
A fresh bracket is seeded on the 1st and 16th of every month at 09:00 UTC from the current top 16 by upvotes. List and gather upvotes before then to claim a slot.
Can I edit my listing after submitting?
Any time, from your dashboard — name, tagline, description, categories, logo and screenshot. Changes go live immediately; no ticket, no waiting.
What makes a review “verified”?
Two things: the reviewer’s email is confirmed, and they clicked through to that product from LaunchNest at least once. It’s a narrow, checkable claim on purpose.
